commander's field manual — fighting.ai grand strategy

overview

Fighting.AI is a turn-based grand strategy game set in 2026. You take control of any of the world's 195 nations and compete against AI opponents (single player) or real players (multiplayer) for global dominance.

Each turn represents a period of strategic decision-making. You manage your military, economy, diplomacy, intelligence, and research. After you end your turn, all nations act simultaneously — AI countries make their own decisions, wars are fought, economies shift, and the world changes.

Games typically last 30+ turns. There is no victory possible before turn 15 — giving you time to build alliances, grow your economy, and prepare for conflict.

getting started
  1. Create a game — Click "New Game" or "Single Player" from the homepage. No account needed — you'll get a magic link to return to your game anytime.
  2. Pick your nation — Choose from 195 countries. Superpowers (USA, China, Russia) are easier. Smaller nations are a harder challenge.
  3. Adjust settings — Tweak AI aggression, combat lethality, fog of war, and other realism sliders under "Game Rules".
  4. Play — You'll land on the world map. Your country is highlighted in orange. The sidebar shows your national stats, quick actions, and the intelligence feed scrolls across the bottom of the map.
the map

The interactive world map is your command centre. Click any country to see its stats and available actions.

  • Overlay modes — Switch between Relations (who's allied/at war), Political, Military heatmap, and Economic heatmap using the buttons on the left.
  • Vector / Terrain — Toggle between a clean dark vector map and a realistic terrain view (bottom-right).
  • Labels — Check the Labels toggle to show country names on the map. They appear as you zoom in.
  • Go To — Use the dropdown at the bottom-left to jump to any country instantly.
  • ColoursOrange = you, Green = allies, Red = at war, Blue = neutral.
actions and turns

Each turn you can queue multiple actions before ending your turn. Actions are resolved simultaneously with all other nations.

Quick Actions (sidebar)
  • Mobilize Forces — Increase troop readiness
  • Call Up Reserves — Transfer reserve troops to active duty
  • War Economy — Shift industrial output to military production (hurts civilian economy)
  • Research Investment — Boost technology progress
Panel Actions
  • Diplomacy Panel — Form alliances, declare war, impose sanctions, sign treaties
  • Military Command — Deploy forces, launch attacks on neighbouring territories
  • Country Dashboard — Deep view of your nation's stats across all branches

After queuing your actions, click "End Turn" (single player) or "Submit Turn" (multiplayer). The world then advances — combat is resolved, economies process, AI nations act, and random world events may shake things up.

how to win

There are 5 victory paths. You don't need to pursue all of them — focus on the one that suits your nation and playstyle. No victory is possible before turn 15.

Victory Path Requirement Strategy
Conquest Control 60% of world territories Build a massive military, declare wars, capture territories. Brute force approach — expensive and attracts coalitions against you.
Alliance Dominance Your alliance bloc controls 50% of territories Form alliances and defensive pacts with strong nations. Your combined territory counts. Diplomacy-focused approach.
Economic Dominance Control 50% of world GDP Grow your economy, avoid costly wars, invest in industry. Sanction competitors. Works well for already-wealthy nations.
Tech Supremacy Accumulate 500 research points Invest heavily in research each turn. High tech level and research capability accelerate progress. A quiet path to victory.
Diplomatic Supremacy Reach 0.95 diplomatic influence Maintain stability, avoid scandals, build alliances, grow your economy. Influence is hard-capped below 0.85 normally — you need sustained excellence across all metrics.

Check your progress toward each victory path on the Leaderboard page.

combat

Combat is resolved automatically when nations are at war. The outcome depends on many factors:

Force ratio — raw numbers matter
Readiness — trained, equipped troops fight better
Morale — war-weary troops lose effectiveness
Supply — ammo and fuel must be stocked
Terrain — mountains and jungles favour defenders
Air/Naval — superiority gives major bonuses
Home advantage — defenders on home soil fight harder
Intel — espionage reveals enemy weaknesses
Weather — winter, monsoons, and mud slow attackers

A decisive victory captures territory. Stalemates and marginal victories cause casualties but don't change borders. Losing all territories eliminates a nation.

key stats to watch
  • Readiness — How prepared your forces are. Drops in sustained combat, recovers in peacetime.
  • Mobilization — How many of your forces are active. Higher means more combat power but higher costs.
  • Ammo / Fuel — Consumed by combat and operations. If these run low, your military effectiveness collapses.
  • War Weariness — Grows during war, causes unrest. Prolonged wars drain your population's willingness to fight.
  • Escalation — Global tension level. High escalation risks catastrophic conflict.
  • Victory Points — Your composite score on the leaderboard. Tracks territory, GDP, military, diplomacy, and research.
multiplayer

Every player gets a personal magic link — bookmark it to return to your game anytime without logging in.

tips for new commanders
  • Don't rush to war. Build your economy and alliances first. Wars are expensive and attract unwanted attention.
  • Watch your supplies. Running out of ammo or fuel mid-war is devastating. Mobilize and stockpile before fighting.
  • Form alliances early. Alliance Dominance is one of the most achievable victory paths. Strong allies also deter attacks.
  • Invest in research. Tech supremacy is a quiet victory — other nations may not notice until it's too late.
  • Read the intel ticker. The scrolling news feed at the bottom of the map tells you what's happening globally. Political upheaval in a rival? That's your opportunity.
  • Random events change everything. Economic crises, natural disasters, and diplomatic scandals can topple the strongest nations. Stay adaptable.
  • Terrain matters. Don't attack into mountains or across water without naval superiority. Pick your battles.
  • Start with a superpower. USA, China, or Russia are forgiving for new players. Once you understand the systems, try a smaller nation for a real challenge.
